The project will take place in the Capital of Estonia, Tallinn, in one of its residential areas, Lasnamäe, where our school is located. Local residents belong to middle-class with average level of income. Geographically the site of the project is conveniently located with the centre of the city: it takes about 10 minutes to reach it by bus.

B. Proposed activities for EVS volunteers
The experience in our organisation will help the volunteers to acquire different social skills, such as dealing with disabled children, learn more about their needs and abilities, understand their and their parents psyhology, as well as the process of integration children with special needs into social life.

We are interested in people, who are willing to work with disabled children and understand their specific needs. As for personal profile, we would like to welcome a sociable, cheerful and considerate person. All sorts of artistic skills are welcomed.

The volunteers are supposed to render assistance to children between and during the lessons, as well as during different events, such as performances, excursions and etc, and help the staff to organise leisure time activities. We also need a person, who can help our organisatsion to take part in other different international projects. This is person is supposed to be able to write international projects and contact other organisations.

D. Special needs (if applicable)

E. Risk prevention, safety and protection

Motivation and EVS experience
Our organisation has no previous experience with EVS, but we are highly interested to get involved in EVS, as this is a unique opportunity for our students, teenagers with different physical disabilities, to get in touch with people from different countries and learn more about other cultures. We hope that this sort of work could also be meaningful experience for a volunteer from another country.
Description of the organisation
As far as we combine both a kindergarten and a secondary school, our aim is to provide education and disabled children learn social skills so that they will be able to manage on their own in their future lives.

Our regular activities include lessons in accordance with compulsory educational programmes, followed by different activities provided by psychologist, physio-and speesc therapists and others.

Children usually stay at school till 6 o clock, and after obligatory classes they have some rest, lunch break and some leisure activities, including indoor and outdoor games, after that they usually do their home task with the help of teachers on duty and then go home. The permanent staff includes 60 people, with 37 teachers and 23 different specialists and assistants.

Our target group consists of 30 schoolchildren with special needs, aged from 7 to 16 years old.
